Timothy School

"And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also"

- 2 Timothy 2:2

WHO

This class is open to any man who has a God given desire to walk in a servant leadership role in the body of Christ. Due to the nature of the class being aimed at pastoral & elder ministry this class is for men only.

VISION

This is an opportunity for laymen and full time ministry leaders alike to be equipped for the work of the ministry. It may be that God has placed a desire on your heart to serve in a deacon, elder, pastoral, or lay leader type of role in the body of Christ but simply feel ill equipped. By the end of this class it is our desire that God would equip you to understand what it is to be a minister of the gospel of Christ, how to minister the word of God to others, and give you an opportunity to do just that when you have completed the course.

COST

The cost of each class is simply your time that God has graciously given you, and to purchase the book required. The book will be Spiritual Leadership by J. Oswald Sanders. These will be provided in class.

WHERE

Classes will take place at Horizon Christian Fellowship’s “upper room”

FINAL PROJECT

Upon the completion of the course we would like to give every participant an opportunity to teach a Sunday or Wednesday service if you feel equipped to do so and want to step out in faith and give it a prayerful try. We would also invite you to participate in some form of pastoral care, counseling, and evangelism and document what you have learned from your experience.

The purpose of the final project is twofold: FIRST, being able to walk in the pastoral ministries will enable you to better understand how to be a support person within the body of Christ to others serving in pastoral ministry. SECOND it’s our great desire to see you step out in faith and
discover God’s gift and calling upon your life. We believe that there are gifted men at HCF who God is wanting to use for the work of the ministry, as a lay servant, or in full-time ministry.
