Acts 2:46 Ministry

WHO: “One accord” – The Acts 2:46 ministry is for all believers at HCF who are interested in growing in the Great Commission (our vision) of win (Mark 16:15) disciple (Matthew 28:19-20) send (Acts 1:8) in a more intimate setting. There are no leaders to groups per say, so we encourage families, couples, or a group of people from the church to gather together for these groups. We greatly encourage these groups to remain under 10 adults in order to have deep, “one accord” fellowship, and if it grows beyond that, start more groups!
WHAT: At HCF, the Word, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42) are the four legs we stand on. A small group is a group of people getting together to go through the questions sent out weekly from the office via email, on the website, or on the app in order to encourage each other in walking out the Great Commission, and applying the text we are studying on Sundays to daily life. We greatly encourage a meal, snacks or coffee together to have sweet fellowship as a family.

WHEN: We discourage this being a replacement for the foundational vision of HCF of gathering “with one accord in the temple”, which is our large group gatherings of Wednesday night Old Testament study, Sunday morning New Testament Study, and Sunday night prayer. However, we pray that the Lord will allow this to be an overflow into our everyday lives. Daily: These groups are to be an informal continuation of our daily lives “from house to house” (smaller group gatherings). Our encouragement is that people would gather at least once a month, but could certainly be weekly for effective, intimate fellowship.
WHERE: “Breaking bread from house to house” - We break bread together in our homes, in a coffee shop, or wherever people gather. Do likewise with other brothers and sisters with some intentionality to grow together, and serve together.
WHY: “Gladness and simplicity of heart”- No one needs another meeting to attend; this is to be a simple overflow of our church lives, into our “daily” lives. The Great Commission of discipleship (Matthew 28:19-20) is “as you go”. This is to take our Christianity out of our church building, into our families, friendships, and neighborhoods that we might apply what it is we are learning as a joyful, glad, simple overflow of our life in Christ.
HOW: Ask some people you have met at church, or if you are new and want to get plugged in, contact Alicia in the office and we will help direct you to groups we are aware of that may be a good fit for you.
