Timothy School
Beginning January 5, 2021!

THEME: (2 Timothy 2:2) – “And the things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.”

SUMMARY: This is an opportunity for laymen and full-time ministry leaders alike to be equipped for the work of the ministry.   It may be that God has placed a desire on your heart to serve in a deacon, elder, pastoral, or lay leader type of role in the body of Christ but simply feel ill equipped.  By the end of this class it is our desire that God would equip you to understand what it is to be a minister of the gospel of Christ, how to minister the word of God to others, and give you an opportunity to do just that when you have completed the course.

WHO:  This class is open to any man who has a God given desire to walk in a servant leadership role in the body of Christ.  Due to the nature of the class being aimed at pastoral, elder ministry this class is for men only. (1 Timothy 2:12)

WHEN:  There are NO DAYS OFF.  If you are committing to taking these classes, we would ask that you attend all of them unless there is a reasonable emergency (death, sickness, etc.).  Count the cost, this is a principle of ministry in and of itself.  Each class will be a 2-hour class for 12 weeks.

WHERE: HCF

REQUIRED READING:
Reviewing Notes from the class
BOOK – Spiritual leadership by J. Oswald Sanders (this will be provided).

COST: The cost of these classes is free to you financially.  The cost involved is your God given time, energy and heart in order that God may use you mightily.  God isn’t looking for great men, He is looking for available men.  (2 Chronicles 16:9) – “For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him. . .”

FINAL PROJECT:  Upon the completion of the course we would like to give every participant an opportunity to teach a Sunday or Wed. service if you feel equipped to do so. We would also invite you to participate in some form of pastoral care, counseling, evangelism and document what you have learned from your experience.
The Purpose of the final project is twofold. FIRST, being able to walk in the pastoral ministries will enable you to better understand how to be a support person within the body of Christ to others serving in pastoral ministry.  SECOND it’s our great desire to see you step out in faith and discover God’s gift and calling upon your life.  We believe that there are gifted men at HCF who God is wanting to use for the work of the ministry, as a lay servant, or in full time ministry.  Please pray on this, and if you are interested please email Matt at hcflax@gmail.com or call the office @ 1-608-782-0896 and set up a time you can meet to discuss your interest.  Thank you.
