APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  • Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • In (Vs 7), Paul tells of the reason for the diverse manifestations of the Spirit in the Body by saying it is “for the profit of all.” This means that the purpose of the gifts is not only self-fulfilling but should fall in line with serving others for the glory of God as in (Philippians 2:1-5). If you are aware of your gifting, in what ways do you see it bringing God glory and blessing others, in the Body practically?

  • In (Vs 8) we noted the “word of wisdom”. Can you think of a situation where you were required to pray (James 1:5) and God provided wisdom beyond your natural maturity?  What was it, and how did it work out?

  • In (Vs 8) we saw the “word of knowledge”, or as it is litteraly translated, diagnosis. Has God every made you aware of something that you otherwise wouldn’t have known. No need for details, but how did you respond, and how did this bring benefit to the Body of Christ? How do you personally feel about others in the Body having this gift after we read about Ananias and Saphira in the book of Acts 5?

  • In (Vs 9) we saw the gift of “faith”, a supernatural endowment of faith for a particular mountain God has called us to move (1 Corinthians 13:2). Has God ever called you to walk through a challenge that was way bigger than yourself, seemed immposible, yet you were able to walk through it and see the mountains removed with relative peace?  Explain.

  • In (Vs 9) we saw the “gifts of healings”. We gave many examples of this being used today in the Body of Christ. Have you experienced this healing in your life or someone you know. How did that work, and how did it bring glory to God?

  • In (Vs 10) we saw the “working of miracles” or the ability for God to defy natural law for His glory. We see this over and over in the Scriptures. One of the first notable miracles in Israel’s history was the crossing of the Red Sea in (Exodus 14). Have you ever seen, or do you struggle at all with the idea of God’s gift of the miraculous. How so?

  • (In Vs 10) we talked about the gift of “prophecy” which is also a office in the church (Eph 4). We will discuss this much more in (1 Corinthians 14), but for the time being, note the purpose of prophecy (14:3), and talk about how this has worked in yoru own life?

  • In (Vs 10) we discussed “discerning of spirits”. The capacity to know the source of something beyond what is being said or done. Have you ever been given discernment of something, ignored it, and found out later it was a discermenet of the Spirit? What was the result?

  • In (Vs 11) we see that God “wills” that we would be given at least one gift each of the Holy Spirit. On a personal note, do you believe God would desire to give you a free gift of the Holy Spirit, and bless you abundantly. What would hinder you from believing (Luke 11:9-13) and why?
