ACTS 2:42 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings.  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.  Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  1. Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  1. (Vs 12) Discuss the importance of the statement “though we cannot necessarily understand how the resurrection works  we believe God who created everything can, and if His word says so that it is true”.  Look at (Matthew 22:23-33) especially (Vs 29).

  1. (Vs 14, 19) we discovered that if the dead do not rise than our “faith is meaningless”.  Of what real value would be Christianity and its teaching if there were no resurrection power for today or hope for the future?

  1. (Vs 18) if possible, discuss how you have handled the death of believers differently than you would have without Christ.  Look at (1Thess 4:13) as well.

  1. (Vs 21-23) Today we base a lot of our future health predictions off of our physical DNA and hereditary genes.  In the Scripture we are told that our eternal outlook for the future lies souly on who’s family we are a part of.  Discus, and be sure that you have entered into the spiritual family of Christ through the new birth(1Peter 1:3-4) and discuss when that took place in your own life.  Praise God together for the promise of (Romans 6:23).

  1. Maybe for fun(but not to striving) come up with as many possible interpretations of (Vs 29) as you can find since we know what it is not saying “that some dead can be saved by vicarious baptisms of other living saints”

  1. The question was asked in light of (Vs 30-32) “Taking risks and sacrificial service” that “if the fear of death, and the fear of loss in this life was removed what would you do for Christ?”  How would you respond to this question?   How do you plan to implement this way of living in light of the hope of the resurrection?

  1. In (Vs 33-34) we were warned to beware of the world(the perspective of no future resurrection for good or bad).  How does the hope of the future resurrection and judgment to come for believers and unbeliever(1Cor 3-4, Revelation 20) affect your draw to living for pleasure in this life alone?  How does this affect the way you view living for sin in this world and being able to lay aside temporary pleasure fo the pleasure of eternity with Christ?
