Questions - John 6:15-21 & Ezk 6:11 - 8:13

Purpose

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

As explained in Acts 2:46–47:
“And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart… And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

And commanded in Titus 2:2-8:
“2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.”

HCF Vision

We believe simple, relational gatherings are the heartbeat of biblical discipleship. These meetings are fulfilling what is described in Titus 2 / Acts 2:42, and are designed to be natural extensions of everyday life — not another program, but a return to how the early church “did life” together.
Scriptural Core Elements of Gatherings:

Breaking of Bread – Enjoy a meal or refreshments together
Fellowship – Spiritual conversation and authentic sharing
Apostles’ Doctrine – Discuss God’s Word and how it applies to real life
Prayer – Pray for one another and for the lost

These gatherings can be used in one-on-one (Titus 2), small group, or family settings (Acts 2:46). Keep them simple, joyful, and reproducible so anyone can host them.

Goal

To Join Jesus in the Great Commission of:

WIN a person to Jesus → DISCIPLE a person in Jesus → SEND a person in Jesus

Application Questions from Bible Studies (Wednesday)

Wednesday Bible Study Date: September 2, 2026
Bible Study Theme: (Ezekiel 6:11-8:13)

In Ezekiel 8 Ezekiel is given insight into what is going on in the temple. We talked
about how our heart is the Temple of the Holy Spirit (1Cor 6:19). If we were to dig
deep and take an honest evaluation of our own lives, do you see any “potential”
idols in your own heart that God has revealed. Remember an Idol is something
you are willing to sin to get, sin to keep, and run to when you need comfort.
Explain.

Application Questions from Bible Studies (Sunday)

Sunday Bible Study Date: 9-6-26
Bible Study Theme: (John 6:15-21) – Knowing Jesus as the Bread of Life Pt. 2 (trusting the Bread of Life in the storms)

1. In this study we discussed the storms(trials) of life that God allows us to go
through. Are you currently in a storm, coming out of a storm or could you share
with the group your most difficult storm to date? Explain.

2. Could you pin point what kind of storm you have found yourself in? A storm of
discipline (Jonah), direction (Acts 26-27) or testing (Vs 15-21) as we discussed?
Explain how you can better respond properly knowing this?

3. Have you ever found yourself in a storm because you obeyed Jesus as
happened to the disciples when they got into the boat by Jesus' command (Vs 17,
Mt 14:22). How did you handle this?

4. In (Vs 17-19) we see the storm really set in on the disciples. It was dark, they
couldn’t see Jesus, the wind was blowing contrary to them, they had rowed three
to four miles and had gone nowhere, and they had become so delusional in
their exhaustion that they saw Jesus as a ghost. What has your current storm, or
most recent storm revealed about where your trust is, in the Lord or in the flesh?
Explain.

5. In (Vs 20) the first point of solution in the storm is to recognize who He is with
you in the midst of the storm. Again Jesus declares “I AM”. Do you have a past
track record of God’s faithfulness in storms that you could share with the group?
How does this affect the way you walk through storms today, give an example?

6. In (Vs 21) we see that the moment the disciples received Jesus into the boat in
the midst of the storm they arrived where they had been rowing towards for
hours. Have you invited Jesus in to be the I AM creator, Savior God in the midst
of your storm? If not today acknowledge who He is and pray that He would come
have His way in the midst, and rest in His peace, in what He will do, because
just like the feeding of the 5,000, He still knows what He is going to do (Vs 6).

Memory Verse (Psalm 119:11):

John 6:21 "Then they willingly received Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going. "

2. Fellowship / Breaking of Bread (1 John 1:3-10, James 5:13-16)

Are you suffering?
Do you have any praise to be cheerful about?
Do you have any sickness to pray for healing?
Do you have any sin to confess?

3. Prayer – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)

Share how God has answered prayers from our previous gathering and give thanks for His faithfulness. (Review what was written from the previous meeting)
Bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another (write them down)

Send a person for Jesus – (Acts 1:8)

What good works (service in the body of Christ) do you see God preparing you to walk in or have you walked in recently? (Ephesians 2:10) Share and pray about it.
