Questions - John 6:22-29 & Ezk 8:14-10:22

Purpose

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

As explained in Acts 2:46–47:
“And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart… And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

And commanded in Titus 2:2-8:
“2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.”

HCF Vision

We believe simple, relational gatherings are the heartbeat of biblical discipleship. These meetings are fulfilling what is described in Titus 2 / Acts 2:42, and are designed to be natural extensions of everyday life — not another program, but a return to how the early church “did life” together.
Scriptural Core Elements of Gatherings:

Breaking of Bread – Enjoy a meal or refreshments together
Fellowship – Spiritual conversation and authentic sharing
Apostles’ Doctrine – Discuss God’s Word and how it applies to real life
Prayer – Pray for one another and for the lost

These gatherings can be used in one-on-one (Titus 2), small group, or family settings (Acts 2:46). Keep them simple, joyful, and reproducible so anyone can host them.

Goal

To Join Jesus in the Great Commission of:

WIN a person to Jesus → DISCIPLE a person in Jesus → SEND a person in Jesus

Application Questions from Bible Studies (Wednesday)

Wednesday Bible Study Date: Sept 9, 2026
Bible Study Theme: (Ezekiel 9-10)

What a sad story in these few chapters. In Chapter 8 we see the hidden Idolatry in the temple, in Chapter 9 we see the mercy and judgment that would come from the temple and in Chapter 10 the glory departs from the temple. How sad that a temple that once was a place of God’s glory and presence has now simply become a shell. What would be signs using scripture that the glory has departed from the church as a whole, or us as individuals as we may grieve the Holy Spirit. How should we as individuals respond to this warning from History? Be specific, use scripture and share how you plan to avoid 'religion without His presence at work' in our ministry and lives.

Application Questions from Bible Studies (Sunday)

Sunday Bible Study Date: Sept 13, 2026
Bible Study Theme: (John 6:22-29) – “Knowing Jesus as the Bread of life Pt. 3”(Seeking the Bread of Life).

In (Vs 22-24), though possibly for the wrong reason, the people were willing to go a long distance, and spend some serious time in order to find Him. Considering how significant Jesus and our eternal souls are, how far is far enough in seeking the truth until we know Who He is? Consider (Proverbs 2:4) and talk about how you personally seek out the Truth of Jesus, The Bread of Life, consider how far you would go to satisfy a physical hunger if you were starving?

In (Vs 25-27) we see their motives checked in seeking The Bread of Life. They were seeking Jesus for temporal blessing only “because you ate of the loaves and were filled” not because they understood who He was as the Savior of the World from sin. What are some of the wrong motives you may have sought after Jesus? Explain.

Jesus corrects this by challenging them not to seek after temporal blessings that perish, but the Blesser, Jesus Himself. Explain the vanity of making temporal blessings the goal in your own life? If you have received the free gift of The Bread of Life, explain the difference.

3. In (Vs 28-29) the people want to know what it costs, how much they will have to do in order to do God’s work for bread. Jesus explains what “True seeking” He is desiring. What does it mean to you to simply “Believe in Him Whom He sent” for salvation, and your daily walk as a believer?

Memory Verse (Psalm 119:11):

John 6:29 “Jesus answered and said to them, 'This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent.'”

2. Fellowship / Breaking of Bread (1 John 1:3-10, James 5:13-16)

Are you suffering?
Do you have any praise to be cheerful about?
Do you have any sickness to pray for healing?
Do you have any sin to confess?

3. Prayer – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)

Share how God has answered prayers from our previous gathering and give thanks for His faithfulness. (Review what was written from the previous meeting)
Bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another (write them down)

Send a person for Jesus – (Acts 1:8)

What good works (service in the body of Christ) do you see God preparing you to walk in or have you walked in recently? (Ephesians 2:10) Share and pray about it.
