ACTS 2:42 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings.  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.  Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  • Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • In (Vs 8-13) the Corinthians clearly had a false idea of what successful Christian living is.  What are some false ideas of success in the Christian life of ministry people have today?  Think of Scriptures if you can to counter those false ideas.

  • What is the problem with the independent, self sufficient spirit of (Verse 8) and Revelation 3:17).  Have you ever found yourself in this place.  Read the rest of Revelation 3:17 onwards to find out what Jesus solution was to the Laodicean church.  What would this look like for you today?

  • We talked about 4 ways Paul loved the Corinthian church with a “fathers heart”.  (Vs 14) Warning (Vs 15), love, (Vs 16), example (Vs 17), teaching (Vs 18-21), and measured discipline.  Which of these 5 was most challenging to you?  If applicable, which area do you see yourself as a parent, or spiritual leader growing in your own walk?  Explain how you plan on doing so.

  • In (Verse 19-20) Paul points out that he is not so interested in their ability to commicate their beliefs, as he is in the power of those beliefs being expressed through their life.  What would be the problem with someone being able to speak like a Christian, while not living like a Christian?  What is the problem with the divide of how someone speaks and how they live growing wider and wider?  Check out Matthew 7:21.

  • MEMORY VERSE:
(1 Corinthians 4:20) – “For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power.”

FELLOWSHIP
  • SENDING/ SERVICE – (Acts 1:8)
  • What ministries have you been participating in this week, and what ways do you as an individual or a group want to pray about participating in in the weeks to come?

PRAYER – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
  • In what ways has God answered your prayer requests from your last Acts 2:42 meeting?
  • Share your prayer requests with one another, and write them down. Pray for one another and bear each other’s burdens to the Lord.
