  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • Discuss the fact that “liberty comes with great responsibility”from (Galtians 5).  What are some great liberties we have been given, in and outside of the Christian life, that if misused could cause great harm to us and others?

  • In verses 14-22, Paul really is asking the question, “Does it draw me closer to Jesus”?  After discussing this on Sunday, is there anything in your life that is keeping you from drawing closer to Jesus in any way? Discuss, confess, repent, and pray for one another on this particular issue. What do you plan on doing about it?

  • In verses 23-30, Paul emphasizes the question, “Does it draw others closer to Jesus”?  Is there any liberty you are taking within your own life that is keeping others from drawing closer to, and being built up in Jesus.  Discuss, confess, repent and pray for one another about this.  What is your plan to give up this right?

  • In verses 31-33, Paul discusses the question, “Does it look like Jesus”? Is there any liberty that you are taking in your life that if you were honest does not look like Jesus, is not something Jesus would participate in, is self-centered, instead of selfless like Jesus (READ: Philippians 2:3-11).  If so, discuss, confess, repent, and pray about it together.  What do you see God doing in your life, trying to get you to look more like Jesus by His grace?

  • Is your aim God’s aim as we discussed in 9:26 (To know Him better, to make Him known, and to be like Him?) Do you have any decisiosn you are currently navigating in life that you could guide by God’s aim? Is there any areas in your life that are at odds with God’s aim, and it is bringing turmoil and anxiety into your life, and that you struggle to surrender?  Discuss, confess, repent, pray about it.
