ACTS 2:42 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings.  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.  Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  • Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • Why is it crucial that we first talk about our new heart identities in Chrsit (Verse 11) before we talk about living properly with our bodies? Take note of the motivation for living properly in (Romans 12:1-2) and (Ephesians 4:1).
  • (Vs 12-14) Since our body was created “for the Lord” we can guage what is good for the body by these two standards Paul lays out in (Verse 12). Is what I am going to do with my body helpful? Is this going to have power of me? Is there any questionable activity in your own life that does not pass through this grid? What will you do about it?

  • (Vs 15-17) Since our body is a “member of Christ, is there any activity you are involved in that you don’t think Jesus would be comfortable participating in?

  • (Vs 18) At what point, and in what situations is it appropriate for us as beleivers to flee before we get burned by sexual immorality, or in any other kind of immorality? Have you ever ignored the way out (1 Cor 10:13) and regrated it later?  NOTE: (Genesis 39:12, 2 Timothy 2:22).

  • (Vs 19-20) In what ways would you use your body differently if you live in light of the fact that it truly is the Lord’s, rightfully bought back by His blood? What would it look like for us to be asking the question daily? What does the Lord want to do with His hands, feet, eyes, heart, mind, mouth etc.?

  • If you wrote down the 7 necessities in having victory over immorality in the Christian life, (Foundation, Preventative, Practical, Progressive, Waring, Offense, Relational), where are you at in having this victory in Christ? Discuss where you need to grow and how you plan to do so?

  • MEMORY VERSE: (1Corinthians 6:20) – “For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.”
FELLOWSHIP
  • SENDING/ SERVICE – (Acts 1:8)
  • What ministries have you been participating in this week, and what ways do you as an individual or a group want to pray about participating in in the weeks to come?
PRAYER – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
  • In what ways has God answered your prayer requests from your last Acts 2:42 meeting?

  • Share your prayer requests with one another, and write them down. Pray for one another and bear each other’s burdens to the Lord.
