IS IT FOR TODAY?
  • It is a ministry that pre-dated Pentecost – (Num 11:25, 24:2; Judge 6:34; 1 Sam 10:10, 1 Sam 16:13; 2 Chron 15:1, Ezekiel 11:24, Lu 2:25, Lu 3:22)
  • It is a ministry for the church in the “last days” (Acts 2) and it continues on until the physical return of Jesus to the earth (Vs 19-20)
  • There is no amen, on the book of Acts (Acts 28), and that was the continuation of a supernatural work of Jesus (Acts 1:1).

DIFFERENT THAN OTHER BAPTISMS
  • Moses’ baptism – (1 Cor 10:2) – God is the baptizer, water (identification with Moses) is the substance
  • John’s baptism – (John 1:31) – John the Baptist is the baptizer and water is the substance
  • Disciples’ baptism – (John 4:2) – The Disciples were the baptizers and water is the substance
  • Identification with Christ – (Romans 6:3, 1Cor 1:30) – God the Father is the Baptizer, Christ is the Substance
  • Christian baptism – (Matthew 28:19) – the minister is the baptizer and water is the substance
  • Into the Body of Christ – (1Cor 12:13) – Holy Spirit is the Baptizer, the Universal Church is the substance
  • Baptism in the Holy Spirit – (Mt 3:11, Acts 1:5, 11:16) – Jesus is the Baptizer, the Holy Spirit is the Substance.

THREE RELATIOSNHIPS WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT (i.e.) Markofskis . . . “That’s not fair, you just read the scriptures.”

  • Continues for the believer (Mt 28:19-20)
  • “In” – (en)- salvation or regeneration – (John 14:17, John 20:22, Rom 8:9)
  • “Upon” – (epi) – Subsequent to salvation, or possibly at the same time
