APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  • Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • God is a God of order according to (1 Corinthians 14:40).  In what ways have you seen disorder in the body of Christ?  What were the results?
  • In verses 2-3 we talked about God’s “traditional” view of gender roles in the church.  What views have you had in the past that differ from God’s. How do you plan on changing your view after our study?

  • In verses 4-10 we talked about how these roles can be symbolized or practiced in the church. If you are a man, what challenged you the most about how you can better practice your role, and if you are a woman, how can you better practice your role? Talk about it and pray about it together.

  • In verses 11-12 we saw that there is an equality of necessity and mutuality in the order of sexes within the church. If you are a man, what is it about how women serve that blesses you, and if you are a woman, what is it about how men serve that blesses you most. Encourage one another in your God-given roles.

  • In verses 13-15 we see that nature itself speaks of gender distinction of male and female as God created us (Genesis 1:27). Name as many obvious natural and physical distinctions between male and female as you can, and talk about the benefit of the differences. If you are married, they say “opposites attract”, and this is certainly true.  What about your differences in marriage is beneficial for your marriage?

  • Are you a team player in the body of Christ, or are you dancing well, as our illustration of “ballroom dancing” indicated. In what ways is the Lord calling you to, as a man, step up, or as a woman, to step up into your God-given role so that the “dance” can reflect God’s glory to the world? Discuss and pray about it.
