APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  • Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  • (12:31) - Have you ever found yourself emphasizing the work of Jesus above the character of Jesus in the work? What did that look like in your life, what did you or do you plan on doing about it?

  • (13:1-3) – Have you ever experienced, or have you yourself been guilty of being annoying (Vs 1) useless (Vs 2) or ineffective (Vs 3) in your Christian life because your Christian life was from the outside in, instead of the inside out (fruit) as it seemed to be in the Corinthians lives? If so, read the solution in (Revelation 2:1-7), pray for one another, and return to your first love relationship with Jesus.

  • Read (John 15:1-16, Gal 5:22) and discuss where fruit of the Holy Spirit comes from?  How can you practically grow in this in your own life?

  • As we read the definition of love in (Vs 4-7), what was it that most challenged how you have viewed “love” in your life.  What is the contrast with the world’s view of love?  In what ways did you realize you needed more and more to depend on the Holy Spirit for this fruit in your life?

  • In what ways does the definition of love, perfectly describing Jesus, encourage you about who Jesus is?

  • (Vs 8-13) - Since love seems to be that which will remain for eternity, we are challenged to emphasize that in all of our service. When you think about the great white throne and how everything without love will be burned up (1Cor 3), how does it challenge you to change your goals for growing as a Christian?

  • (14:1) – In what ways practically, can you, by God’s grace, take steps of faith to “persue love, and desire spiritual gifts. . .” or “. . . make it your aim, your great quest?
  • MEMORY VERSE: (1Corinthians 14:1a) – “Persue love, and desire spiritual gifts. . .”
