- THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
- Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?
- APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
- In (Vs 1-4) we discussed this special collection for the saints in Jerusalem from the gentile churches. As a base for all giving (Psalm 24:1) should be noted about whose the rightful owner of all things, and (Psalm 50:12-15) about the fact that giving in worship is not about God’s “need” rather ours. Discuss how giving financially in worship benefits us?
- In (Vs 2) we discussed that the church seemed to, and we should worship the Lord in giving “regularly”. What would be the benefit of giving regularly, and how do you plan on applying this to your own life?
- In (Vs 2) again we discussed that the church gave as a “priority”. Discuss why it is important to give with (Matthew 6:33) in mind. How can you prioritize giving, and how might this alleviate worry about finances in your life?
- In (Vs 2) we also see how we should live “according to our God given ability”. It seems that giving should be given in percentages, possibly a tithe as a good start as the Lord directs. Note (Deut 8:18) and consider why it is important to give based off of ability. Without details, how is it that the Lord has grown you in this? Have you been tempted to think either “I make to little to worship the Lord with a percentage of His”, or “I have too much and it seems silly to give so much?” Explain.
- In (Vs 2) Paul explains that giving should be given “secretly, and w/o manipulation”. In what ways have you seen this done poorly, and in what ways have you been set free from needing to give for the wrong reason? NOTE: (Matthew 6:1-4).
- In (Vs 3-4) Paul shows that giving, and receiving should be done within the church with “accountability”. Are you personally countable with your finances, and honestly do you trust your church leadership to deal honestly with funds given to be used by the Lord?
- In (Vs 5-7) we learned that when making plans to serve the Lord in life, we should do so according to “Gods will”. In what ways have you made good plans with good intentions and the Lord changed them. How do you personally handle change of plans as James describes in (James 4:13-15)?
- In (Vs 8-9) we say that in planning we should be “God directed”. In what part of the 4 steps of learning Gods perfect will do you struggle the most? (Matthew 7:7-8), Pray(ask), and trust Gods ability to open and close doors; Seek(and wait) for doors to open according to God’s word(psalm 119:1-5); knocking,(walking by faith 2Cor 5:7), through the open doors presented; or lastly the confirmation of adversity from the enemy, the world, and the flesh?
- Has God been directing you lately in some way, and where are you at in the process? Explain how you plan on taking the next step.
- In (Vs 10-12) we see how planning in involves “Gods people”. Timothy needed encouragement to do what God called him to do, and Apollos needed to be entrusted to Gods directing in His life. Which planning with “God’s people” do you excel by God’s grace(give an example) and in which area do you struggle the most(give an example)?
- MEMORY VERSE: (1Corinthians 16:9) – “For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries.”
FELLOWSHIP
- SENDING/ SERVICE – (Acts 1:8)
- What ministries have you been participating in this week, and what ways do you as an individual or a group want to pray about participating in in the weeks to come?
PRAYER – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
- In what ways has God answered your prayer requests from your last Acts 2:42 meeting?
- Share your prayer requests with one another, and write them down. Pray for one another and bear each other’s burdens to the Lord.
