Dec. 14, Acts 2:42 Questions

ACTS 2:42 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings.  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.  Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
o THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
1.Do you have any thoughts questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

o APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:

1) Have you ever had to have a bone or join “restored” as we talked about Sunday?  Explain the experience to the group and how it made you feel about those helping you in the moment.

2) In (Vs 1-3) we see that thorough Restoration first requires a level of sorrow over sin that is often brought through correction.  Are you willing to walk in Biblical correction with others even if it causes temporary pain and difficulty?  Why or why not?  Have you ever had someone correct you and it brought some temporary pain?  How do you feel about it now?  Explain.  NOTE (Proverbs 27:5-6, 28:23, Gal 6:1).

3) In (Vs 4-5) we see the reason why Paul brought restorative correction to the Corinthians in the first place.  What were the two reasons we saw in these verses, and maybe consider the difference between angry correction, and loving correction?

4) In (Vs 6-7) we see that “discipline” not a punitive punishment was “sufficient” for the man who was living in the adulterous relationship (1 Corinthians 5).  We looked at how we can know it has been enough and now it is time to restore (2 Corinthians 7:8-11).  What is the difference between “punishing” someone as a payment for their sins, and “discipline” that is for correction of action?  Give some examples you have walked in or seen in your own life.

5) In (Vs 8-10) we see that in order for their to be true restoration “forgiveness” must take place.  We talked about four promises of forgiveness.  Discuss each one, and what it would look like for you to walk this out?

a. I wont bring this up to you again.
b. I wont dwell on this myself.
c. I wont talk about this with others.
d. I wont let this affect our relationship going forward.

6) In (Vs 11) we saw a warning from Paul about “Satan's devices".  In what ways do you see Satan tempting you today.  Is it to fall into sin, or other end of the pendulum of self righteous pride as would be the reason for unforgiveness?  Acknowledge His devices, and pray for one another.
