Acts 2:42 Questions - Feb 8, 2026

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of
bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in
the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from
house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings. We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.

Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
  1. Do you have any thoughts or questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
  1. When you read your bible, go to bible study, church etc. do you really expect there to be change in your life?  Why or why not?

  1. The first step in experiencing repentance(Vs 2-8) is “Revelation”.  We see that for us that revelation comes by the Spirit and the Word of God(Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 119:105, Psalm 36:9), and ultimately bringing us to see ourselves in light of Jesus (Zech 12:10).  Has God recently brought revelation to you of something in your life that He is wanting to transform to be more like Jesus?  Explain.

  1. In (Vs 9-10) we see the “attitude” brought about by revelation, that produces “repentance”.  Share some examples of Godly vs. Worldly sorrow as we discussed in our study.  What kind of sorry would you say you currently have over the “revelation” God has brought to you about a particular area of your life?  Why or why not?

  1. In (Vs 11-12) we saw the “fruit” of a truly Godly sorrow that leads to repentance(Matthew 3:8).  There were 8 signs of good fruitful repentance.  Discuss these and share how you see these in your life now concerning the issue God first revealed to you.  Explain why or why not?

  1. In (Vs 13-16) we saw the “Joy that followed” the repentance of the Corinthians believers.  Are you currently experiencing joy over the area God has revealed to you?  Share a testimony of how through humbling repentance God brought Great joy on the other side(Mt 5:4, Acts 3:18, Ps 30:5, 126:5-9).  Share what you need to do in order to get to your destination of joyful clear relationship with God and people through repentance?

  1. EXTRA – Look at and discuss how we see this process of repentance in the life of the prodigal, and see where you can apply this to your own situation.

  1. (Luke 15:17) – Revelation for repentance
  2. (Luke 15:18-19) – Attitude producing repentance
  3. (Luke 15:20-21) – Fruit of repentance
  4. (Luke 15:22-24, Vs 7,10) – Joy following repentance

  1. Practice confession and repentance.  Ask yourself, am I more concerned about what people think of me, or what God thinks of my relationship with Him.  Remember (Matthew 9:12-13).

  • MEMORY VERSE: (2Corinthians 7:10
FELLOWSHIP
