ACTS 2:42 QUESTIONS
“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42 home fellowships), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one, group, or family settings. We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings. Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you.

APOSTLES DOCTRINE(WORD)
- THROUGH THE BIBLE READING
- Do you have any thoughts or questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?
- APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES:
- This week we looked at Satan's playbook. Have you ever played a sport, or was in some sort of competition where knowing the opponents plans were essential to your victory? Share and explain how this helped?
- In 2Corinthians the word “devices” is used for thoughts, mind, etc. Look at the other verses in which it is used and how the enemy play’s “mind games”. (Vs 3:14, 4:4, 10:5, 11:3). Also look at (John 8:44), and discuss why it may be important we understand the enemy's battle ground is our mind (thoughts, perspectives).
- In (Vs 11) we talked about how Paul says we are not “Ignorant” about the enemies devices. Why would it be to Satan's benefit that we would be ignorant of his devices, or pretend like it's not him?
- In (Gen 3:6, 1 John 2:16, Luke 4) we saw the three devices of the enemy, which are just 3 versions of the same “did God really say?” Which of the 3 devices most stuck out to you in your life?
- We talked about THE LUST OF THE FLESH (feelings). In what way specifically have you seen the enemy try to get you to live in the lust, feelings, perspectives of the flesh? What truth can you use to counter the lie?
- We talked about THE LUST OF THE EYES (or the attempt to get us focused on the world that is passing away). In what ways that were discussed on Sunday, do you see yourself being tempted in this way? What truth can be applied to overcome this lie?
- We talked about THE PRIDE OF LIFE(self righteousness, self sufficiency, intellectual pursuit of God, Pursuit of God, I am god). In what ways discussed on Sunday do you see the enemy tempting you most in this area? Careful, this can be the most subtle as our pride often doesn’t want to see it(John 8:33). What truth can help counter this lie(give scripture).
- In (Deut 17:14-20) we saw the same three warnings given to the kings of Israel. There were two exhortations to that King. Write the whole book of law by hand, and second they were to read it every day of their lives in order that they may not be led astray. Have you, or do you have a plan for getting a big comprehensive view of the whole Bible? How can you do so if not? Do you plan on reading through the Bible in a year with HCF? How do you plan on doing so, so God can speak to you daily with truth? Share your plans, and pray for one another.
- In (Acts 26:18) we see that the purpose of the Gospel is to turn us from the power of Satan to God. Have you personally believed in Jesus Christ, and turned to Him in faith? If not, ask someone in your group to help lead you in a salvation prayer to be delivered from darkness into Christ’s light.
- MEMORY VERSE: (1John 2:16)
FELLOWSHIP
- SENDING/ SERVICE – (Acts 1:8)
- What ministries have you been participating in this week, and what ways do you as an individual or a group want to pray about participating in in the weeks to come?
PRAYER – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
- In what ways has God answered your prayer requests from your last Acts 2:42 meeting?
- Share your prayer requests with one another, and write them down. Pray for one another and bear each other’s burdens to the Lord.
