Acts 2:46 Questions - John 3:1-8

ACTS 2:46 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42/ Titus 2 discipleship), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one (Titus 2), group, or family settings (Acts 2:46).  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.
Simply do life as believers should, and invite others to join you in The Great Commission of

Bible study Themes: (John 3:1-8) – Knowing Jesus as The Teacher from Heaven

WIN a person to Jesus – (Mark 16:15)

  • Have you had the privilege to share and show the gospel to anyone recently?  Explain.

DISCIPLE a person in Jesus – (Matthew 28:19-20) (Acts 2:42)

Apostles Doctrine (Word)
  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING - Do you have any thoughts or questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES: (or New believers study, Marriage study, Addictions study, or other approved material)

  1. Do you remember your spiritual birthday?  Share with the group how, when and where that came to pass?(This will look different for everyone).

  1. In (Vs 1) we saw the man “Nicodemus” who came to Jesus, the Teacher from heaven, asking questions.  As we discussed his character, can you relate to Nicodemus yourself in any way?  Explain.

  1. In (Vs 2) we noted how Nicodemus came to Jesus by night.  Do you yourself ever contemplate, or wrestle through deep spiritual truths with the Lord at night when everything is quiet?  Why might this be a good time either late at night or early in the morning?  Explain and Read (Psalm 63:6).

  1.  In (Vs 2-3) we discussed “why we need to be born again”.  Have you generally seen yourself as a good person, or a sinner in need of salvation (being born again)?  Explain?  (Romans 5:12, Psalm 51:5, Eph 2:1).

  1. In (Vs 4) we see that this is “not a physical birth” or work of the flesh.  What works of the flesh have you ever attempted, or seen others attempt in order to have a new  life?  How did that work out?

  1. In (Vs 5-6) we see that this is “a spiritual birth”.  Can you say for certain that you have had a spiritual birth in relationship with Christ?  Read (Ez 36:26-27) and discuss how this relates to your spiritual rebirth in Christ?  If you are not certain and are ready, pray today, believe and be born again.

  1. In (Vs 7) we see that “it is essential” that one be born again.  Jesus said “you must be born again”.  Have you thought about this being an essential reality before?  How does this affect your own walk, and how you might share with others?

  1. In (Vs 8) we see that being born again is “transformational”.  Just as the invisible wind gives evidence by the sound we hear as it blows so it is in the believer's life who has the “Wind, Breath, Spirit of God” blowing on their life when they are born again of the Spirit.  Do you see the evidence and proof of the Holy Spirit at work in your life?  Explain and look at these scriptures to compare.  (1John 2:29, 3:9, 4:7, 5:1, Gal 5:22-23, Rom 6:1-3.)

  • MEMORY VERSE: (John 3:3NKJV)  - “Jesus answered and said to him,  “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

  • Fellowship/ Breaking bread
    • Are you suffering?
    • Do you have any praise to be cheerful about?
    • Do you have any sickness to pray for healing?
    • Do you have any sin to confess? (1 John 1:3-10, James 5:13-16).

  • Prayer – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
    • Any answered prayer from the last Titus 2/Acts 2:42 meeting?
    • Bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another (write them down).
