Acts 2:46 Questions - John 3:9-21

ACTS 2:46 QUESTIONS

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” as explained in (Acts 2:46) “And continuing daily with one accord in the temple (corporate Sunday/Wednesday gatherings at HCF), and breaking bread from house to house (Acts 2:42/ Titus 2 discipleship), they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart.” Resulting in (Acts 2:47) “. . . and the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”
To be used in one-on-one (Titus 2), group, or family settings (Acts 2:46).  We encourage the enjoyment of a meal or refreshments together (breaking of bread), spiritual conversation (fellowship), time discussing how the Word applies to our lives, and time of praying together during these simple gatherings.

  • THROUGH THE BIBLE READING - Do you have any thoughts or questions on your “Through the Bible” reading plan?

  • APPLICATIONS QUESTIONS FROM BIBLE STUDIES: (or New believers study, Marriage study, Addictions study, or other approved material)

  1. In (Vs 9) Nicodemus seems to agree that there is a need for the “New Birth”.  He now asks the question, “How can this be” for me?  What are all the different ways you yourself have tried in order to have a new life?  Explain.

  1.  In (Vs 9-13) Nicodemus gets to “learn about believing”.  Nicodemus knew a lot (He was “the teacher” in Israel), but there was something he didn’t know yet.  How teachable do you find yourself to be when it comes to biblical truth?  Explain your answer.

  1.  In (Vs 14-15) Jesus gives Nicodemus an “illustration about believing” using the brass serpent lifted up on the pole in the wilderness (see Numbers 21).  What does it look like for you to look to Jesus in faith today as the people in the wilderness did?  Explain, and discuss (Isaiah 45:22, 2Cor 3:18, Hebrews 12:2).

  1. In (Vs 16-18) we are told there is a “choice in believing”.  Have you yourself made the decision to accept God’s choice to love you?  When have you made that choice, or do you need to make that choice today?

  1. In (Vs 19-21) we are taught that there is a “coming to the light in believing”.  To come to Jesus in faith, is to admit I am in the dark and need cleansing of my sin.  What reasons have you, or are you hiding in the dark with your sin instead of coming to Jesus in the light? (Read 1 John 1:7-9)  Explain.

  • MEMORY VERSE: (John 3:16-18)

  • Fellowship/ Breaking bread
    • Are you suffering?
    • Do you have any praise to be cheerful about?
    • Do you have any sickness to pray for healing?
    • Do you have any sin to confess? (1 John 1:3-10, James 5:13-16).

  • Prayer – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)
    • Any answered prayer from the last Titus 2/Acts 2:42 meeting?
    • Bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another (write them down).

Send a person for Jesus – (Acts 1:8)

  1. What good works (service in the body of Christ) do you see God preparing you to walk in or have you walked in recently? (Ephesians 2:10) Share and pray about it.

  1. Do you see the Lord opening a door for you to share the gospel this week?  (Revelation 3:8)  Share and pray about it.
