Questions - John 6:1-14 & Ezk 3:22-6:10

Purpose

“And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread, and in prayers.” (Acts 2:42)

As explained in Acts 2:46–47:
“And continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart… And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.”

And commanded in Titus 2:2-8:
“2 that the older men be sober, reverent, temperate, sound in faith, in love, in patience; 3 the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, not slanderers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things— 4 that they admonish the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed.
6 Likewise, exhort the young men to be sober-minded, 7 in all things showing yourself to be a pattern of good works; in doctrine showing integrity, reverence, incorruptibility, 8 sound speech that cannot be condemned, that one who is an opponent may be ashamed, having nothing evil to say of you.”

HCF Vision

We believe simple, relational gatherings are the heartbeat of biblical discipleship. These meetings are fulfilling what is described in Titus 2 / Acts 2:42, and are designed to be natural extensions of everyday life — not another program, but a return to how the early church “did life” together.
Scriptural Core Elements of Gatherings:

Breaking of Bread – Enjoy a meal or refreshments together
Fellowship – Spiritual conversation and authentic sharing
Apostles’ Doctrine – Discuss God’s Word and how it applies to real life
Prayer – Pray for one another and for the lost

These gatherings can be used in one-on-one (Titus 2), small group, or family settings (Acts 2:46). Keep them simple, joyful, and reproducible so anyone can host them.

Goal

To Join Jesus in the Great Commission of:

WIN a person to Jesus → DISCIPLE a person in Jesus → SEND a person in Jesus

Bible Study Theme: Ezekiel 3:22 - 6:10

In (6:9) God speaks of how Israel's spiritual adultery “crushed” His heart. What does this say to us about God’s heart towards His people when we go astray? How does this affect you, knowing that God can be “crushed” in His heart over our idolatry that gets in the way of our love relationship with Him?

Bible Study Theme: (John 6:1-14) Knowing Jesus as The Bread of Life Pt. 1 “The Miracle by The Bread of Life”

In (Vs 5-6) Jesus asks Philip a question as a test to see how he would respond. How do you respond when God has asked you to do something impossible? Would you have passed the test by turning to Jesus or would you have responded like Philip and Andrew by making human calculations? Give an example and explain.

In (Vs 6) we find out that Jesus “knew what He would do”. How should we respond to difficulties knowing Jesus has a plan, and the capacity to fulfill it? Explain.

In (Vs 10) Jesus asks the disciples to prepare for a miracle that made no sense from a human perspective. Is there an area in your life today where you seem to be preparing for something that doesn't make sense to you? Read (Proverbs 3:5-6) and explain how you plan to walk this out.

In (Vs 11) “Jesus took the loaves”, and in the other gospels He asked that they would be given to Him. Have you ever thought that what you had in hand was insufficient to do what Jesus was asking of you, and therefore kept you from obeying Him? What seemingly insufficient supplies do you have in your life today that could be put into Jesus' hands in order that He, if He chooses, could perform a miracle to bless others for His glory? Pray, give these things specifically to Him, and explain how you plan on obeying what He has asked of you.

(Vs 11) What relief is it to you that we are simply distributors of what Jesus supplies miraculously? How does this affect your daily walk with Jesus, and hope for being used by Him?

In (Vs 12-13) Jesus provided such an abundance that all the people were “filled”. Share a testimony (if you have one) with the group of God’s supernatural provision in your life that proves Him to be a great provider of our “needs” when we obey Him. (Matthew 6:33)

(John 6:6) “ But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.”

2. Fellowship / Breaking of Bread (1 John 1:3-10, James 5:13-16)

Are you suffering?
Do you have any praise to be cheerful about?
Do you have any sickness to pray for healing?
Do you have any sin to confess?

3. Prayer – (1 Peter 5:7, Gal 6:2)

Share how God has answered prayers from our previous gathering and give thanks for His faithfulness. (Review what was written from the previous meeting)
Bear one another’s burdens and pray for one another (write them down)

Send a person for Jesus – (Acts 1:8)

What good works (service in the body of Christ) do you see God preparing you to walk in or have you walked in recently? (Ephesians 2:10) Share and pray about it.
